I had an interesting morning watching activity on Kimbulawala Tank this morning. In three and a half hours I managed to see 45 species of birds, get dripping wet (35° and high humidity) and the back of my neck sunburned. I took quite a lot of video this morning and a few photographs. These in this post were all on my iPhone which is 3 generations out of date. I do wonder what the new one can do …

Lesser whistling ducks
A purple heron hunting for fish in the floating vegetation.
Lunch was a little difficult to unpack.
A pheasant tailed jacana

I saw a group of six pied kingfishers resting together. Nearby were a pair of white throated kingfishers, and a stork billed kingfisher. I guess the fishing was good.
